Final Workshops for 2011

Another great Cobweb Felting workshop at Precious Purl last Saturday! The girls worked hard and were very happy with the results.
Several samples using Merino/Silk Laps in various ways were produced in the morning session. The afternoon saw beautiful scarves/wraps being laminated to hand dyed Tissue Silk.

This Cobweb Felting Workshop will be offered again on Saturday 5th November 10.15 - 4.15, cost $150.

The last workshop for the year will be a Nuno Felted Flowery Summer Scarf using Silk or Muslin on Saturday 19th November. This will be from 10.30 to 1.30 and will cost $95.

Samples of these workshops can be seen at Precious Purl and as numbers are quite limited - be Quick!.

Geelong Fibre Forum and Victorian Feltmakers Textile, Art & Craft Charity Market!

What a busy "Fibrey & Textiley" time at Precious Purl!!
Last week saw us trading at the Geelong Fibre Forum. A wonderful annual event that sees around 200 people move in to Geelong Grammar for an intensive week of learning and fun with International and Local tutors.
Classes this year were offered in Print making, Book making, Jewellery, Creative Machine Embroidery, Weaving, Felting and more!
We joined in the Party on Friday night and were blown away by the hard work of SooMee Kim's Felting group who paraded their beautiful jackets and wraps for us all to admire.
The Open Day on Saturday is a huge affair where the public can view all the work produced during the week, visit the Traders, attend the Heathen Bazaar and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings and soak up that vibrant, creative atmosphere.  Add this to your diary for next year!

Our stand looked "Gorgeous!" Thanks to everyone who visited us and loved our "stuff!"
There was a little treasure trove behind this mesh screen!

This Saturday 8th October, Precious Purl/Lara Downs will be at the Victorian Feltmakers Inc
Textile, Art & Craft Charity Market at Hartwell Church of Christ hall off  Highfield Road, Hartwell between 10-2pm. Many crafty items have been donated for a silent auction and all money raised will be donated to the Cancer Council.
Hope to see lots of people there! Stop by our stand with the large Precious Purl poster displayed and say Hi!
